Notchy is a small app made by a small team. Most questions are answered below. If yours isn't, write to us and we'll reply.
Why is there no cloud sync?
Because the moment we sync your RTO data to a server, it stops being personal record-keeping and starts being something a court could subpoena. Notchy is designed so that nobody — including us — can ever see your logs. If you change phones, restore from your iPhone backup; your logs come with it.
How does the trial work?
Notchy is free for your first 30 logged days. Days you don't log don't count, so a slow week doesn't burn your trial. After 30 logged days, a one-time purchase unlocks the rest of the app. Existing data stays visible read-only if you choose not to buy.
Can I import from an existing spreadsheet?
Not in v1. We're considering CSV import for a follow-up release. You can backfill the calendar manually — tap any past date and pick a location.
What if my employer changes the policy?
Edit your policy in Settings. Notchy versions policies by date, so changes apply going forward. Historical periods are still scored against the policy that was active at the time.
Does Notchy share data with my employer?
No. Notchy is not affiliated with your employer, your HR system, or any attendance tracker. It is a personal tool. If your employer requires you to use a specific compliance system, use that one too — Notchy is for you.
Family Sharing?
Yes, where Apple supports it for one-time purchases.
What happens if I switch phones?
Restore from your iPhone backup; your Notchy logs come with the rest of your app data. There is no cloud sync to set up because there is no cloud.
